Health Care Reform?

l hope we will soon see all the bribes and smelly deals our senators are making. What we see so far is shocking. Our liberties are slowing being taken away. The state of Illinois is filled with corrupt and inept government leadership. We've given the rest of you Chicago politics at the highest levels. How do you like it? Living here my entire life, it's all I've known. It's still hard to get used to the smell.

KSM Trial

What is going on here? Eric Holder, the 82nd Attorney General of the United States, has just set us up for the show trial of the decade. He tells us not to worry. He says everything is under control and that these guys are going to be found guilty. That sounds like a show trial to me.

We hate it when racial incidents raise their ugly head, especially when it's initiated from a distinguished professor. Maybe the professor was tired. Maybe he was having a bad day and snapped. But in the final analysis, we think it was the President who acted stupidly. The cops were just trying to do their job.

Judge Sotomayor did well last week. She said she didn't mean it when, in the past, she said over and over and over that a wise Latina would do a better job than a white guy.

Last week the House of Representatives passed over a thousand pages of new laws, again without reading what they are voting on. It's likely to be the largest tax hike in the history of the world. Where was the media? Talking about trivial matters.

Our Health-care future

To be honest, when Big Tuna submitted his Obama medical cartoon, I thought it was - well - too blunt. But a few days latter, I heard President Obama answering a question about his plan from an ordinary citizen. As reported in the Wall Street Journal, a woman named Jane Sturm told the story of her 105-year-old mother, who, at 100, was told by an arrhythmia specialist that she was too old for a pacemaker. She ended up getting a second option, and the operation, for which Ms. Sturm credits her survival. Read the rest of the story below the cartoon.

No Meddling

Compare President Kennedy and President Reagan with President Obama. Can you remember what the country was like when Kennedy and Reagan were leading us? How did we feel about ourselves. I know how I felt - proud. Hard to feel that way with "I don't want to meddle".

The press once again was fawning over President Obama this week. The occasion - an impressive execution of a pesky fly that was interrupting an important interview.

God like Presidency

Just last week, Newsweek's editor Evan Thomas said Mr. Obama was "sort of like God". He went on to say Obama was above everyone. He's a citizen of the world. He's above it all.

I'm a citizen of the United States. I want a president who first and foremost thinks of himself as a citizen of the United States. I want a press who will keep the government honest, not one that will elevate our leader to God like status.

It sums up for me what is going on in the "back rooms" in congress and the deal making on the healthcare bill between Pelosi, Reid and Obama. Pelosi says this has been the most transparent bill enactment ever!!? LOL. I called my congressman's office in Washington yesterday to find out if he is in favor of the senate's version of the bill verses the house's and his minion told me he's not even sure what will be in it, but he is sure it will be a good for the country!

For the past few weeks we have seen our illustrious Senate bargain for their health care votes. Senator Landrieu was proud to kick things off for a mere $300 million for Louisiana. And let's not forget about the great Senator from Nebraska who is going to make the rest of us pay for his state's new Medicaid payments - FOREVER! What is Illinois getting? Well, we have two Democratic senators, a Democratic governor, our Democratic President came from Illinois, and of course we have the all powerful Democratic mayor of Chicago. So you'd expect we'd get something special, right? Besides getting health care rammed down our throats, the citizens of Illinois are going to get hundreds of Gitmo terrorists - and we'll get to keep many of them forever - courtesy of Dick Durbin. I find this entire process revolting. God help us. God help our country.

They Acted Stupidly

It would be nice if our President acted like a president instead of a community organizer. He jumped into the Cambridge Police/Professor Gates controversy without knowing all the facts. He embarrassed himself and the Office of the President by allowing his activist past with radicals like Bill Ayers, Saul Alinsky and Reverend Wright to control his actions. And drinking beers with Gates and Crowley does not mask Obama’s racism and agenda.

Wait till you try and sell you home. Didn't know that was going to be a problem? Well, let's not talk about that. Hey! Did you hear Jacko's getting an open casket funeral?

Take a Pain Killer

Here's the scary part. President Obama said "at least we can let doctors know and your mom know that, you know what? Maybe this isn't going to help. Maybe you're better off not having the surgery, but taking the painkiller." Let's think about what just happened here. An ordinary citizen tells a compelling story about how our current health system has extended the life of her dear mother by five precious years. The response from the President - your mom should have been given pain killers.

What's even scarier than this? When I saw the actual tape of the President saying this, he was so nice, so understanding, and so dismissive of preserving the life of a mother, a grandmother, a great grandmother. This man is down right scary. Behind the persona of a kind and understanding President is a cold man who prefers you just take a pill. It's a lot easier for everyone.

The Three Presidents

This has been a terrible week for the people of Iran. Let's not kid ourselves. We are a long way from really understanding what is going on over there. But here is how I see it - the Mullahs say "Don't you meddle" and our leader says "I don't want to meddle". It's hard to see President Kennedy responding that way. No way was Reagan going to respond that way. I'm not saying send in the Marines, but can't we do better than this? Theses Mullahs are bullies. Ever been bullied? I am beginning to wonder if President Obama was ever bullied as a kid. It's as if he missed a critical lesson growing up. A bully never respects weakness.

Yes, it's true. President Obama has been called "Sort of Like God" by the press. Reporters bow to him when he enters the press room. They confess to tingle sensations up their legs. We can laugh at how ridiculous this has become, but this has turned dangerous. Are there no reporters or newsmen out there that will dig for the truth? Having a press that just rolls over like this is not good for the country. When so many in the press are so biased, how will we get the truth?

I remember when newspapers were bold. I remember when there were reporters that made names for themselves by uncovering lies and deceit. It was thirty years ago. The country was much safer then. With few exceptions, I see the news media going along and praising, praising, praising.

I think they look ridiculous.

The livelihood of many small businessmen were ruined by the closing of dealerships nationwide. These dealers for the most part were hard working small businessmen and women that supported their communities in many ways. It's pathetic, and the kicker is that the dealerships did not cost Chrysler and GM a dime since most of them are individually owned. Not capitalism's finest hour. Something's fishy here.
